Quito: First Photos of my travels

into another hostel. called the secret garden..
this place is much better.. though im having trouble tyoing on this keybpard..
all the digits are worn off. and you have to hit the buttons v hard...


went to look for some lunch this afternoon.. popped into the first place i saw,
.. i asked for food, the girl seemed like she didnt have any food ready.. i saw the word "jugo" on the wall which means juice.. so i asked for that. she brought me a half a coconut filled with some thick orangy stuff. and her mother came out and chatted with me for about 25 minutes..
explained to me that this is called " chicha" and best i could understand, is made from some kind of amazonian fruit. the woman and her daughter are from the there . she was telling me i should go visit the amazon. nice people... the taste of that orange stuff was still with me for a while though. in fact i though everything smelt like it for about an hour after.
later learned from another traveller over a beer that this is a drink used in the amazon to make up for lack of nutrients in their diet...


The woman went out to help a neighbour or something just befor i finished my half coconut of chicha. and the daughter was too shy to be in the photo so i settled for a picture of the wall.

this seems like avery effective way of carrying a baby though.. could be used in ireland perhaps.

Roadworks going on in one of the streets in Mariscal, funny how they dont block any of the holes up. people just walk right over it.

This place has everything! spanish schools , tours etc... and double room w purified drinking water..lovin it
