Baños: The zoo & more quad biking

Location : Baños,Ecuador

I went to visit the Zoo today (or the "Animal Prison" as it is called in the hostel map)

its two whole kilometres from Baños! so i got another quad.
Today i noticed that some Quad bikes are better than others.
this one is way better, better suspention, more comfortable to sit on, not so jumpy, more power and no chain coming off.
though due to the thumb operated acelerator my thumb is officialy killing me now.

There were lots of beautifully coloured birds here, a little mismached with the background though.

I felt sorry for this Jaguar, she seemed extremely distraught, pacing over and back and moaning loud in a way i would more expect from a monkey. her body was less lean and fit than i would expect a jaguar to be. Then maybe she is about to have pups.

I have to admit there is a prison-esque vibe to it.

This guy tried to shoot something out of his bottom at me!
i got him back later hehe just messin.

Andean fox

"Cabesa de mate" or "taira"
scientific name: "Eira barbara"
i think this is the guy,the mention of whose name alone is enough to kill a guinea pig.
though im not sure which name that is, apparently the Quechua one. in any case say it with care.

there are actually two zoos, or at least its broken up into two, on each side of the road.

Peacock, "Pavo real azul" (direct translation from spanish would be - blue royal turkey)

Venemous snake from Amazonia

Then i went on a small excursion.

After some lunch i went up to "Runtun"
its small village basically on the lower part of the volcano.

Spotted a few more waterfalls along the way.

Quick stop at "Bella Vista" for some fotos (note: this is the same place the Chiva took us the other night)

Runtun
(popped into Cafe del cielo "cafe of the Sky" : its the middle of the three buildings on the edge, had a really nice cherry milkshake)

This i where i went yesterdy, to the Antennas at the top of top of "Lluchi Alta" and "Lluchi Baja"

I can see my house from here! The yellow thing is the cafe on the rooftop of Plantas y Blanco hostel
