Colombia: Taganga

After spending a few days in Santa marta i could have been forgiven for thinking that this area of colombia is quite untouched by wolrdwide tourists. however a small trip to a town just 10 minutes away over a small mountain has put things in perspective. yes the tourism is huge in the santa marta area , its just that taganga takes all the business. taganga is a small beach town in a very cosy setting between two mountains, perfectly situated to take in the hot rays of the sun all day long with a spectacular sunset each day at 6.15pm, when the sun goes down right in the centre of the horizon with the two headlands on either side. this place is full of travellers and tourists, and as i write this, also full of colombians on holidays beause this week is semana santa (easter). semana santa is a big thing in south america.
