I took bus from buenos aires to Puerto Iguazu. the journey was 18 hours, however it was quite pleasant.they served a dinner (steak & potatoes). as much wine, 7up you wanted and and a generous glass of whiskey as a nightcap.
no one does buses quite like argentina.
northern argentina has the same red earth as the jungle in peru.
on arrival i quickly realised that staying around iguazu was not going to be cheap, and all of the relativly cheap places were booked out. so i decided since the bus had been so comfortable, why not just seek my nexts nights accomodation on another moving bus!
unfortunatly for me the latest bus going out was 7.30pm which gave me 3 hours to get to know iguazu.this is not a lot of time given that the park itself is rather large but i went for it anyway.
and heres what i saw on the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls....
garganta del diablo
safe in the knowledge that i shall never need to see another waterfall again, (excep maybe these ones) i boarded another 18 hour bus back to buenos aires, arriving in at mid day the next day,i had lunch and investigated the boat times to uruguay. there was a boat leaving at 3.30pm.... no rest for the wicked... next stop montevideo
